/ The Hardest Part

Got a big one done today. Packaged up the Webamp uploader and added it as a download in the You section of the site. This lil app helps you upload tracks to your Webamp player without having to touch the code.

Read / Download

Reached out to someone who hates me today. Makes me sick to my stomach. I'm trying to see it as nothing changes either way, but it's not like me to reach out to someone after falling out. In fact, I've never really done that. I figure I'm too proud for it, but all this pride and nothing to show for it. Probably too late now. Keep telling myself it was worth a try. Literally, why not? Maybe it's an exercise in learning not to be so anxious about everything. Yeah.

Enjoy the download though.

And the hardest part was letting go, not taking part

You really broke my heart, oh

And I tried to sing, but I couldn't think of anything

And that was the hardest part, oh, oh

/ In Full Effect

My friend's mom came over for lunch a while back and accidentally stayed for hours to read my books. That's the best feeling. We should visit friends' houses just to read their books and listen to their music more often without being bothered. That should be something we do.

While she was here, she came upon my Lucie Rie book and told me she was also taking pottery classes and fell in love. She took this book to class and asked her teacher about Lucie and developed her style around this book. Months later, she came back and gave me this lil bud vase :')

What a feeling.

Huge news, I've added a bunch of my zines to download. Huge to-do list item finally finished. These zines are super old. Hope to write a new one sometime real soon. Enjoy.

/ When heart is hard to find

Felt a weird gust of motivation to add a few things to the site. Reskinned and added a script to my webamp that allows me to easily add and remove songs from the playlist. That's now added to the main page somewhere under this post. Also played around with a Youtube Playlist embed that I also vibed out a frontend management tool for:

So now there's these YT playlists, my Playlist tag, and a Webamp player on a single site. I haven't really figured out what goes where, but then again who fucking cares? That's the cool part. I'll do what I want for no reason whatsoever. I also forget I'm terrible at making playlists hell yeah. It was a nice exercise though. I have never thought about locking down apps using referrers through .htaccess and applied some of the stuff I do at work for it and it actually works great. Like a shitty SSO almost.

Some unexpected money came in from gigs I did and I guess a holiday bumped my paycheck up a day. Don't hate that. Treated myself to a couple dresses and a book.

Family has been very stressful lately. Mom was in the hospital last week and having a hard time getting around. My sisters have been very pesky and rude. I get it, but it's exhausting. I don't know how people can be so negative for so many days in a row. I'm so tired. Every time I pick up my phone, it will be anywhere from 4-70 texts about things I need to buy, who I need to check up on, what I need to look up. I get scared if I miss even a single conversation that I'll never hear the end of it. My mom's the least frustrating person in the whole picture right now, which is a first.

anyways. enjoy all the noises i've added.

/ Heartburn & Affirmations

I'll make this quick.

The site has been updated to query posts from different categories rather than just the blog alone. I think this promotes more exploration and gives visitors a better sense of what this whole site is rather than just reading the blog. You'd think this would go smoothly, but it didn't. I broke the article container on my way there somehow. Don't look too closely at it.

Some sections are randomized again to promote exploration. Hope you like it.

WIP is updated with the major project I've been talking about.

Wrote a substack article about how much a Claude-generated app I use sucks.

/ Here You Me

I accidentally missed the Sunny Day Real estate set last night. Trying not to be a baby about it but I've been waiting to hear Seven live for a disgustingly long time Oh well, next time. Most good bands are dead, anyways. But here's a photo of Jimmy Eat World and I happen to know most of their songs too.

I haven't been at this big of a show or seen a show outdoors in a long, long time. Had to be Foo Fighters in DC or Wrigley, more than 12 years ago at this point. Not a fan but we ball.

Went on my morning jog today and came upon a book sale i didn't know about at the library. I try to keep up with these and can't believe I didn't have this written down already, but the surprise also feels really nice. It was a really good sale and everyone at the library was super nice, as they always are. One day (I will join them).

I'm listening to everyone that tells me not to worry about how all my collections are growing too big to manage. I have a bunch of books that don't even fit on my shelf anymore but here I go, buying more. And I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I'll just sleep on them or something.

The Ford project is finished. I blew through the money already on bills.

Family has also been absolute bullshit and I won't upset myself by going into detail.

Have been working on too many sites that aren't mine and my eyes feel like putty. I'll clean up around here soon.

/ SIIIIU-U-U-UUU

Went for a walk the other day and saw a kid setting up a table in front of his house. I thought it was a lemonade stand at first but noticed he was selling his trading card collection. He was wearing his lil soccer jersey too. I don't know shit about soccer and asked for the only players i knew. He only wanted $20 for both and when I gave him the cash, he took off running into the house smiling ear to ear to tell his parents about his first sale. It was really cute. Made my day, maybe my whole weekend.

Enjoying the little things lately. Laughing at myself for closing every blind in the house because it's so hot and I'm turning into my parents. Spending at least some part of each day watering plants, going for walks and jogs, drinking my little teas. Still working a lot and trying to get that under control, honestly.

Seeing Jimmy Eat World / Get Up Kids / Sunny Day Real Estate Friday. This had my name written all over it. It's Bleed American cover to cover and the lineup is almost too perfect. I also found a $60 ticket in the section behind the pit, holy shit. It's my first concert that size since 2014. Unbelievable. Can't wait to tell you all about it.
