/ Trigun

Trigun

I have never seen a fictional character more like my father than Vash the Stampede. We used to sit and watch it together and laugh our asses off. He never really got into anime, but said Trigun reminded him of spaghetti westerns he loved growing up. He said it reminded him of Lucky Luke, who he tried to name me before he found out I was going to be a girl. This show is so sweet and hilarious, just like him.

Lost

I don't care how many years it's been. I don't care how many shows have come out since and improved on the idea. I don't care how many loose ends, how little sense it makes, and how poorly it aged. Not only is this is some of the best television I've ever seen, it's some of the best I ever experienced. Every episode had fans clamoring to forums and discussing at all hours of the day until next Wednesday. They really don't make em like this anymore. They don't.

Steins;Gate

I'm not sure how I've never personally met anyone who likes this show, but it's one of the highest rated shows on all of Myanimelist. They're right though. This is one of my favorite tropes and versions of time travel ever put on a screen. This is another anime whose dub is every bit as good as the sub, if not better.

Top. Peak. Goated. Whatever word you want to use. It's over eighty episodes and they're all worth it. It's an incredible noir and thriller/suspense story where every single character is a whole person distinctly different from the next. The English dub is also very well done, don't believe the haters.

Pluto

Netflix did this show such a terrible disservice by not marketing it nearly enough. The show is a masterpiece. It's not many episodes, but each hits with a power and poignancy not found by entire shows. Urasawa does it again.

One of the best shows I've ever seen from start to finish. It's as funny as it is fucked up and gets funnier the more fucked up it gets somewhow. The cartoon absurdity paired with the seriousness of the subject matter is unique to this show. The cast is incredible at every level.
