When Spirit Airlines partnered with Master Card for a special concert with country artist Brett Young, they needed a site to promote the show and help users set reminders for the live concert. Following the show, a Flyaway Contest would be revealed onscreen and users would be directed to enter their information for a chance to win a trip to see Brett at a future date.
My role in the project was to design the landing page on desktop and mobile in coherence to Spirit’s brand, develop the API to receive entries, create the form and user interaction with the form for the contest, and manage the live behavior of the landing page to dynamically change from one phase of the promo to the next.
Conclusion:
The final site was a clean set of frontend code that allowed for state changes at exact times, allowing the team to deploy the site and “walk away” during the live performance. The phases of the promo went live at predefined times, meaning there was no downtime experienced.
