Event Tool

A client with an extensive event program needed a web-based tool that allowed for management of each event’s data, metrics, costs, staff, and reports. Their existing tool needed better UI, better load times, and more graphical representation of materials. The old design was slow, hard to navigate, and busy in terms of design.

My role in the project was to improve the application UI without rewriting the entire tool. Extensive CSS / AJAX / Jquery was used to accomplish this without overloading the tool or slowing it down even further. By breaking out parts of the event data into tabs, the app performed much faster visually.

Conclusion:

The final site was modern, user friendly, and much faster than its predecessor. The use of modals, tabs, and dropdowns helped users see only what they needed to and none of what they didn’t. Real estate was used as cleverly as possible to accommodate long tables and large calendars and reports.
